Celebrity Short Hairstyles Offer Summer Inspiration

With temperatures on the rise you may be tempted to chop off your hair for the hot months. Many celebrities are rocking some pretty cute cuts. Celebrity short hairstyles are a great place to start when looking for your summer look.

Short hairstyles look good on just about everyone and are always a current style. Popular cuts celebrities are sporting are the ever traditional bob and the timeless pixie.

The bob haircut first became popular in the 1920s but it's a style that is anything but dated. Current hairstyles are short and stacked. It's perfect for those with square faces, especially the "graduated bob," which has shorter angles towards the front (think Victoria Beckham). Bobs work best with straight hair. A product that adds volume to the hair is a must to keep fine hair from falling flat. A flat iron may also be necessary to keep away even the slightest of waves.

Audrey Hepburn made this celebrity short hairstyle popular. The pixie cut has recently been seen on Emma Watson and Jennifer Lawrence. The shortness of a pixie may be intimidating as it is a cut that draws attention to facial features. It is ideal for those with round faces and those who have thick, naturally wavy hair. It is textured for definition and can be styled multiple ways, making it the perfect style for those who do not like to be tied to just one look.

There are some exceptions to short styles and some people are just best to avoid the look. Coarse hair needs more length to it in order to weigh it down, so it is best to keep these tresses a couple inches lower than the jaw. Curly hair tends to frizz more, making a short cut look too triangular.

Short hair may look like it is easy to maintain, but not all short haircuts fall into the easy to maintain category. Some require a lot of products while others must be trimmed up every six weeks.

What are you waiting for? It's time for that summer 'do!
